Spurs then added to that win with a crucial victory in the Champions League, defeating Eintracht Frankfurt at home.

Tottenham are still battling at the top of the Premier League, just four points behind leaders Arsenal, who are showing few signs of slowing down.

Conte’s men will need to keep picking up maximum points to keep ther pressure on Arsenal and Manchester City, and this weekend, they face an Everton side who have enjoyed some good form of late.

Ahead of the clash with the Toffees, Tottenham could get Dejan Kulusevski back.

Conte said after the Frankfurt clash: “He’s almost ready. He had an MRI scan and that was positive. I spoke to the doctors and they said we could have a 5% of risk if he played.

“It would be stupid to take the risk and lose him for the rest of the games and I don’t want to take any risk as he’s an important player.”

Japhet Tanganga could return after a knock, and Tottenham are looking pretty good elsewhere, albeit with Emerson Royal suspended.

For Everton, Mason Holgate is hoping to be back in time.

He has said: “I’m good. I trained yesterday, obviously it was a lighter session with it being the day before a game, so hopefully I’ll get another week of training in and I should be available to be in the squad next week, hopefully.

“The timing of [the injury] wasn’t ideal but you could always say that whenever you get injured. It’s part of football, you just have to get on with it and hopefully I can come back stronger and better.”

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has returned to action, but Ben Godfrey, Nathan Patterson, Yerry Mina and Andros Townsend are all out.
