Tottenham Hotspur are looking to bolster their options after appointing Thomas Frank

The 51-year-old has plenty of experience in the Premier League having managed the Bees in the Championship and guiding them to promotion. He has spent four campaigns in the top-flight and established Brentford as a Premier League club.

Spurs will be hoping he can help fire them back towards the top end of the table after they lost 22 league games last term and finished 17th. However, the season was rescued by the Europa League victory over Manchester United which earned the North London outfit a place in the Champions League.

It will be Frank’s first genuine experience of managing in Europe. He twice guided Brondby to the Europa League qualifiers but never reached the group stage. As he prepares to battle on a number of fronts with Spurs, he is eyeing some new signings to bolster his squad.

Fabrizio Romano confirms Tottenham interest in Eberechi Eze

One player Spurs are said to be looking at is Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze. Writing in his Give Me Sport newsletter, Fabrizio Romano confirmed Spurs were interested in the player. He said: “Tottenham love Eze, he's on the list for sure. But no final decision has been made yet.”

Tottenham have signed Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich for £30m after activating a permanent option following his loan spell in North London. Eze has a release clause in his deal of around £68m.

The Eagles will be resistant to losing the 26-year-old as they face the prospect of Marc Guehi also leaving the club this summer. It means that any offers below Eze’s release clause are likely to be immediately rebuffed.

The Guardian reports that Eze’s representatives, CAA Base agency, are also the agents for a host of Spurs players - including Son Heung-min, James Maddison and Pape Sarr. Tottenham have already agreed sign Japan international defender Kota Takai from Kawasaki Frontale for £5m in a club record sale for the J1 League side.

‘Unpredictable’ Eberechi Eze tipped for the top by Rio Ferdinand

Speaking previously about Eze, former Leeds United and Manchester United man Rio Ferdinand tipped Eze to play for one of England’s top teams. He told TNT Sports: “His journey has been unique. He’s had disappointments in his academy life, released from clubs, found a new journey and a different pathway for himself. He’s got to this level and now he’s an England international.

“This kid, no disrespect to Palace, could go on and play for one of the top teams. He’s got that individual brilliance; he’s got the awareness when he’s dribbling to keep his head up and bring others into play. I speak to other players that play against him, and they say he’s such an elusive player, unpredictable in the way that he carries the ball, but also [his strength].

“If you look at the size of him, he’s got the strength and power to go with it. Again, you’ve got to get out on the pitch and you’ve got to be available.“
