Spurs are getting ready for what could be a very busy January transfer window. With Liverpool’s acquisition of Cody Gakpo, the other clubs in the so-called “big six” will be looking to respond with their own eye-catching deals.

Tottenham are reportedly interested in a Barcelona midfielder - and they may not have to pay an astronomical fee for him, either. Currently out of favour at the Nou Camp, could Spurs offer him an opportunity to flourish?

Meanwhile, Spurs’ sporting director has expressed his admiration for a winger who currently plays for Leicester City. However, if Spurs are serious about pursuing him, they’ll reportedly have to prepare themselves for a large asking price.

Spurs submit bid for Franck Kessie

Spanish journalist Alfredo Martinez, speaking with Radioestadio Noche, has claimed that Spurs have submitted a bid for Barcelona’s Franck Kessie. The offer is thought to be in the region of around £13 million.

Kessie has found himself out of favour at Barcelona this season. He’s made just seven appearances in La Liga so far - regardless, to acquire a coveted talent for such a low price would be amazing business from Tottenham.

Fabricio Paratici is a fan of Harvey Barnes

Tottenham’s sporting director, Fabricio Paratici, is “understood to like” Harvey Barnes, according to football.london. However, the report also mentions that Barnes has two years left on his contract at Leicester (which expires in June 2025) and would likely command a large fee.

Barnes is a versatile winger and would be a great cover option for Spurs. Despite this, with the likes of Dejan Kulusevski, Lucas Moura, Richarlison and Son Heung-min already on Tottenham’s books, Barnes’ game time would probably be limited.
