Tottenham's starting XI after Monday's deadline based on transfer rumours
A look at what Tottenham’s starting XI could look like after the window closes on Monday.
Tottenham are now racing the summer transfer deadline, with the window set to shut on Monday evening. Spurs have enjoyed a solid start to the season, but they are pushing to bring in more quality and depth to make sure they are well equipped to sustain Premier League and Champions League efforts.

With the deadline closing in, we have put together a Tottenham starting XI based on potential transfers based on rumours.
GK - Vicario
There are little doubts over Tottenham’s starting goalkeeper, with Vicario having the number one spot locked down.
LB - Destiny Udogie
Udogie is likely the best left-back option once he is back, but Djed Spence will provide healthy competition given his strong start to the season, and Udogie will surely have to win back his spot first.
CB - Cristian Romero
Romero has started the season well, now the club captain and full of confidence after signing a new contract coming into the new season. Romero will remain a starter.
CB - Micky van de Ven
Van de Ven is the other starter, but Tottenham will perhaps look to add better competition before Monday’s deadline, with Manchester City’s Manuel Akanji being linked.
RB - Pedro Porro
Porro is the first-choice starter on the right, and that is not likely to change. Like on the left side, Spence will be providing competition here if he is not starting on the other side.
CDM - Pape Matar Sarr
Sarr has started the season well, and Frank seems to love the protection he offers for the the defence. Yves Bissouma could make way, and Sarr is a very likely starter when fit. Archie Gray is also an option here.
CDM - Joao Palhinha
The same goes for Palhinha, who works best when playing as a holding midfielder but with another player so that he has more licence to get forward when he senses the opportunity to create danger. Palhinha will get that alongside Sarr and he is likely to keep his place.
CAM - Xavi Simons
Xavi Simons looks likely to arrive on a £58.1million deal from RB Leipzig, and he will likely take up the attacking midfield role left by the absence of James Maddison through injury. When Maddison is back, there will of course be healthy competition here. Rodrigo Bentancur will be competing for a couple of these midfield spots, too, and Lucas Bergvall will also be an option.
LW - Brennan Johnson
This is where things get difficult. Tottenham have some good options at the top end of the pitch, and they could yet add another one. Brennan Johnson has started the season well, though, and he should be playing as long as he is in his current form.
RW - Ademola Lookman
On the other side, Tottenham could add another winger to replace Heung-min Son, and Atalanta star Ademola Lookman has been linked, available for around £40million to £45million having held out on Atalanta this summer. Lookman is said to be in London and hoping for a Premier League move before Monday’s deadline. Either way, Mohammed Kudus, Mathys Tel, Wilson Odobert and others will be competing here.
CF - Richarlison
This will be another tricky one to sort out, and we are likely to see rotation aplenty across the Premier League and Champions League. Richarlison would be the hot hand to ride at this stage given his strong start, but Dominic Solanke will also be plenty leaned upon.
