Tottenham 'working' at pace to sign new striker to cover Solanke as West Ham and Man Utd target 'offered'
Tottenham have been ‘offered’ a Man Utd and West Ham target after losing out to Randal Kolo Muani.
Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke is set to be out injured for at least a month after suffering a knee issue ahead of Spurs’ game against Everton, where they lost 3-2 at Goodison Park earlier in January.
The former Bournemouth striker has scored seven goals and three assists in the Premier League this season, but Ange Postecoglou will now have to look elsewhere for his goals. The Spurs boss said on Thursday: “With Dom, the information now is around the six-week mark. No surgery, but we're looking at around six weeks. It might be quicker, but we'll see.”
It means that Solanke could miss games against Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City, which comes as a big blow for Spurs, who already have a lot of injury concerns in several areas of the pitch.
Solanke’s injury has sparked suggestions that Tottenham could sign a striker before the end of the January transfer window. They had been linked to Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani, but he looks set to join Serie A side Juventus instead. They have now been ‘offered’ a 22-year-old striker from the Eredivisie.
Tottenham, Man United and West Ham linked with Ajax striker Brian Brobbey
Reports have emerged saying that Tottenham have been ‘offered’ the chance to sign Ajax striker Brian Brobbey, who has been out of form for the Dutch side this season in the Eredivisie.
Brobbey, 22, has scored just one goal in 17 games for Ajax in the league this season, however last year, he netted 18 goals in 30 games, showing that he can be a prolific goal scorer.
According to The Boot Room, Spurs have been offered Brobbey, who has also been heavily linked with West Ham and Manchester United. Recent reports have said that the Hammers are close to landing Brobbey, as they also look to add a striker this month under new manager Graham Potter.
Man United are said to be keen as well, as strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have struggled for Ruben Amorim’s side, scoring just five Premier League goals between them.
West Ham could turn attention from Brobbey to RB Leipzig forward Andre Silva
Spurs may not have to contend with the Hammers in order to sign Ajax forward Brobbey this month, as West Ham have been heavily linked with RB Leipzig striker Andre Silva instead.
Recent reports have said that the Hammers are in ‘advanced talks’ to sign Silva, who has made just eight appearances in the Bundesliga for the German side this season. They would sign Silva on an initial loan deal with an option to buy if his spell at the London Stadium proves to be successful.
Silva has been at RB Leipzig since signing from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2021, for a transfer fee of £19m. The 29-year-old has made 110 appearances for Leipzig since, scoring 27 goals and contributing 20 assists.
