Tottenham Hotspur are willing to accept transfer offers of £15 million or above for one of their fringe central midfield players.

Giovani Lo Celso has become something of a fringe player at Tottenham Hotspur this season, with his playing time at the club becoming more and more limited under the stewardship of Ange Postecoglou.

According to a recent report from Football Insider, Spurs are willing to let Lo Celso leave the club in the upcoming January transfer window for a fee of £15 million - he has played just 69 minutes of football this season, with his only start coming in an EFL Cup game against Fulham, which they lost on penalties. As things stand, it is Spurs’ only defeat this campaign.

Currently, it is unclear if there are any parties who are interested in signing Lo Celso - however, it seems increasingly evident that Postecoglou does not see the Argentine as one of his long-term squad players at Tottenham.

Should Tottenham sell Giovani Lo Celso?

Lo Celso has made just three appearances for Tottenham this season - two substitute appearances in the Premier League, with the other coming in the League Cup. He is now firmly a backup player at Spurs - with his reported weekly wage of £70,000, Spurs could pool the resources into a new signing.

Lo Celso, during his time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, has struggled to make much of an impact. Since he signed for the club in 2020 for a fee of around £42 million, he has made 43 Premier League appearances for the club, scoring a single goal along the way.

Losing him would not be much of a blow - especially if Spurs can find a superior replacement. An offer of £15 million would be significantly less than what they paid for him, but with just a year and a half left on his current deal, taking this would be far better than losing him on a free transfer in the summer of 2025.
