Tottenham predicted XI vs Brentford as Ange Postecoglou set to hand £40m star his first start of the year

James Maddison hasn't started a game since injuring his ankle in the game against Chelsea last year.

Tottenham will hope for a swift response to their disappointing 1-0 defeat to Manchester City in the FA Cup when they host Brentford in the Premier League tomorrow night.

Manager Ange Postecoglou confirmed £40million summer signing James Maddison has trained all week and has a good chance of starting his first game of the year after recovering from his ankle injury.

The England midfielder was a late substitute on Friday evening, but he's pushing for a start tomorrow night. Spurs boss Postecoglou told the press ahead of the game: "He was ok, he was fine. We probably could have got him a little bit more game time but the way the game was going we put him on a bit later than he would have wanted me to but he got through it ok, he's trained well so he's ready to go."

Heung-min Son, Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr are still away on international duty, but the latter will return to the club on Wednesday following Senegal's Africa Cup of Nations exit. This fixture was Spurs boss Postecoglou's first league game in charge when he took over in the summer and that day it ended 2-2. Since then, the Lilywhites have impressed massively and are chasing Champions League football

Tottenham are massive favourites to take all three points but Brentford have Ivan Toney so this will be keenly contested. So with both teams desperate for three points, here is the Tottenham eleven we anticipate Postecoglou will put out.
