Tottenham will hope to forget the disappointing defeat to Leicester in the Premier League when they take on AC Milan in the Champions League later tonight.
Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma are all set for lengthy spells on the treatment table, which means youngsters Oliver Skipp and Pape Mata Sarr will have golden opportunities to establish themselves and remind everyone of why they are considered members of the first team squad.
Some of the greatest players in history have landed opportunities when more established stars have been out injured or failing to deliver. This will be the golden chance for both to really go out and stake a claim, after all it was at the San Siro where club legend Gareth Bale first bust onto the European scene.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, one of the backbones of the Spurs side, is also suspended and captain Hugo Lloris has undergone surgery and is also not expected back for at least six weeks. It’s a game where other will have to go on and earn their wages if Spurs are to still come off the game with something to hold on to for the second leg.
Another spot of interest is the right-wing back position where the club have signed Pedro Porro, but after a difficult debut over the weekend it might be wise to recall Emerson Royal who was the best player against Manchester City and would have been disappointed to have been dropped at the King Power.
