Tottenham player ratings vs Luton: terrific player gets 8/10 and but one gets 4/10 in ‘brilliant’ win

Tottenham have made their best start to a top-flight campaign since since 1960 with the win against Luton Town, that year they won the double.

Tottenham jumped to the summit of the Premier League table for the first time this season but had to do it the hard way after the sending-off of midfielder Yves Bissouma.

Spurs had come into the game with a record of five wins and two draws from their first seven games and that was put to a vigorous test when Bissouma was sent off, but summer signing Micky van de Ven put the Lilywhites ahead in what was a frantic game at Kenilworth road.

Ange Postecoglou again showed why he is highly rated with quick thinking on his feet to bring in Pierre-Emile Højbjerg as the cement to a midfield that needed to be reliable and dynamic with 10 men and a half of football to play.

Despite going down to 10 men, Tottenham as was evidenced in the game against Liverpool always found a way, and they did again at Kenilworth Road.

The Lilywhites have heroes all over the pitch and today it was summer signing Micky van de Ven who not only scored a goal but was incredibly dedicated in his defensive work when Luton attempted to press them into mistakes.

James Maddison bagged another assist in what has been a remarkable start to life in north London but so was Kulusevski who held the ball up and just never stopped running.

Luton Town will be disappointed they were not able to at least get a draw against a 10-man Spurs side but Spurs were simply better and deserved all three points in the end.

Here is how we rated all the Tottenham players out there today.
