Tottenham player ratings vs Arsenal: 'very poor' 3/10, plenty of 4s but one 'hard-working' 6 in defeat
The player ratings from Tottenham’s defeat to Arsenal in the North London derby.
Tottenham's recent poor record in the North London derby continued with the Lilywhites losing 1-0 to their sworn rivals. Gabriel Magalhães rose high above everyone to head home the winner in the second half, condemning Spurs to successive defeats.

Dominic Solanke had a good chance to put his team ahead but hesitated, while David Raya was busy in the first 15 minutes. Once Arsenal settled and played smartly, they picked their moments and grabbed the win in enemy territory.
Here is how we rated the Tottenham team out there today:
Guglielmo Vicario - 5
Made a brilliant save from Havertz in the first half, and another from Martinelli. However, he showed poor judgment and hesitation, which contributed to Arsenal's goal.
Pedro Porro - 5
Found himself on the receiving end of a heavy tackle. Defended well but did not contribute as much as he would have liked.
Cristian Romero - 5
As expected, Romero was uncompromising and incredibly committed. When he's good, he’s very good, but he lost his man for the Arsenal goal.
Micky van de Ven - 6
Did really well in situations where he had to chase down his man. Not at fault for the goal. Spurs needed all to play like him.
Destiny Udogie - 5
Made some interesting marauding runs early in the game but quietened in the second half.
James Maddison - 5
Had a generally quiet first half but delivered some interesting crosses into the box. Still not back to his best.
Rodrigo Bentancur - 4
Worked hard in midfield but lacked a bit of creativity.
Dejan Kulusevski - 5
Looked assured and quite impressive at the beginning, but struggled in the second half.
Son Heung-min - 4
Started the game playing across the front line and caused some trouble for the Gunners.
Brennan Johnson - 3
Protected the ball well but needed to be more clinical with his crossing. Needed to do more overall. Very poor over all.
Dominic Solanke - 4
Had a slow start to the game and missed a good opportunity when presented with a chance.
