Tottenham player ratings: Several players score 4/10 and one 6/10 in ‘disappointing’ 2-0 Arsenal defeat

Player ratings from Arsenal’s 2-0 win against North London rivals Tottenham in the Premier League.

Tottenham’s top four ambitions suffered a blow following a 2-0 North London defeat to Premier League leaders Arsenal.

Hugo Lloris put through his own net after a horrible attempt to handle an attempted cross from Bukayo Saka, the 2018 World Cup winner will not want to see the replay of the goal again.

The Gunners did deserve the lead following a strong start to the game where they looked organised, composed and incredibly comfortable while Spurs looking leggy and just out of ideas.

For the first 25 minutes- it was all Arsenal and midfielder Thomas Partey, whose every touch was being booed smashed a volley to the cross bar. Minutes later, captain Martin Ødegaard, allowed all the time and space in the world fired an unstoppable strike from outside the penalty box to increase the score line, not much Lloris could do about that.

Tottenham started the second half better and created a few decent chances but Arsenal still were the better side and striker Eddie Nketiah forced Lloris into another save midway through the second half.

Spurs manager Antonio Conte had only own two matches as manager against Arsenal while Mikel Arteta had never won a match after receiving the Manager of the Month award. But it was the Arsenal manager who will walk away smiling and his hands in the air as his side claimed another massive three points in the Premier League.

Spurs will hope that they are able to return to winning ways when they travel to the Etihad to face Manchester City on Thursday.
