Tottenham player ratings gallery: one player scores 9/10 and plenty 6/10 in 2-1 win over Marseille

Tottenham come from behind to qualify to the knockout stage of the Champions League with a win against Marseille.

Tottenham progressed to the knockout stage of the Champions League with a hard fought 2-1 win against Marseille on Tuesday night. The French side started the game in fine form and deservedly took the lead through Chancel Mbemba.

But Spurs changed the game in the second half with more control and precision and centre back Clement Lenglet with a towering header to equalise for the north London side early in the second. Antonio Conte was sat in the stands after his sending off last week, but he was in touch with the technical team as they made changes and effected the game from the bench.

Pierre-Emile Højbjerg tired after running up then for 90 minutes saw a run from Harry Kane and jumped on and was played through by the England striker, one on one with Marseille keeper, the Danish midfielder finished with a brilliant strike to ensure Spurs not only qualified but top group D. This is the second game in the space of three days that Tottenham have come from behind to win after their victory against Bournemouth.

Last week Tottenham were frustrated after a late Harry Kane strike was called off by VAR but at the Velodrome, there was no stopping them as they celebrated the late Højbjerg goal with so much character and passion.

There will be discussions on why Tottenham got it so wrong in the first half and how they got it right in the second half -but Antonio Conte will be delighted with the show of character and strength shown by his team in the circumstances they found themselves.

Here is how we rated every Spurs player out there today.
