Tottenham player ratings and gallery: two 8/10s and plenty 6/10s as Kane scores to keep brilliant home form

Tottenham have now won all their last 10 home games in the Premier League and in Europe.

Harry Kane’s penalty and a late Pierre-Emile Højbjerg secured Tottenham a 2-0 win over Everton to continue their 100% home form in the Premier League this season.

Tottenham have now won 10 home games in all competitions and go second on the Premier League table, same points as Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City who play Liverpool tomorrow.

The last time Everton visited Tottenham, they were thrashed 5-0, today’s performance was a massive improvement on what the Toffees did that day, creating two of the best chances in the first half, but failing to make them count.

Demarai Gray skied his effort after being through on goal and Amadou Onana missed his target after doing all the hard work in the first half.

The second half though was a different kettle of fish with Tottenham pitching camp in Everton’s half which ultimately led to Everton giving away a penalty.

Harry Kane stepped up to finish off brilliantly from the spot for his ninth goal of the Premier League campaign before Pierre-Emile Højbjerg received a brilliant pass from Rodrigo Bentancur and planted it beyond the advancing Jordan Pickford.

Everton came with a plan to suffocate the host and hit them on the break- and even though that worked in the first half, Tottenham worked hard and moved gears which ultimately took the game away from Frank Lampard’s side.

Spurs will now head to Manchester United in midweek in fine form and at the back of an impressive win.

Here is how we rated every player out there for Tottenham.
