Tottenham beat league one side Portsmouth to progress to the next round of the FA Cup

Tottenham made it harder than it should have been- but ultimately got the win against league one side Portsmouth at home.

As has often been the case, Harry Kane was the goal scorer after he received the ball from Ryan Sessegnon and fired in from the edge of the penalty box to give his side the lead at a time the home fans were just beginning to feel a bit restless.

Kane is now just one goal short of Jimmy Greaves 266 record as the club’s top scorer. He now has 265 going in to the North London derby where he is expected to equal the record.

League one side Portsmouth gave a good account of themselves and should be proud of their performance as they made it difficult for their Premier League opponents, restricting them to half chances in the first half before a moment of magic from Kane won the game.

Antonio Conte yet again had to deal with injuries after Yves Bissouma, originallynamed in the team had to drop out. The extend of damage is yet to be known even though he adds to the likes of Bentancur, Richarlison and Kulusevski who are on the treatment table for the Lillywhites.

Tottenham will now take on Arsenal in their next home game having won their last two games, a much better position now than when they lost to Aston Villa at home.

Here is how we rated every Tottenham player out there today against Pompey.
