Tottenham could accept offers for one of their regulars this summer as they look to reshape their squad.

Tottenham are expected to offload one of their midfielders this summer, according to a report. Spurs have an intriguing summer window ahead, and it remains unclear whether or not Ange Postecoglou will be presiding over it.

Spurs have had a nightmare campaign that has largely been dictated by an endless stream of injuries that is now finally beginning to clear up. Tottenham’s Premier League campaign is all-but over already, and they are now relying on the Europa League as their only remaining route to European football next season.

There will be some big decisions to make this summer, with Postecoglou’s future likely to be the biggest. Beyond that, Spurs will have to make decisions on their playing staff, with more quality and depth required, as has been made clear by the injury crises this season.

In terms of exits, Tottenham will have to decide on whether to keep loan players Timo Werner and Mathys Tel, holding options to buy in both deals, while the list of expiring contracts include Sergio Reguilon, Ben Davies, Fraser Forster and Alfie Whitman.

There are also some contracts set for expiry next summer, and one of those is Yves Bissouma, who is now being linked with an exit. Given his contract decision, Tottenham will have to decide whether they plan to keep the midfielder long term or whether they would prefer to sell him and get some cash back this summer.

According to former Tottenham scout Mick Brown, a departure is likely this summer. He told Football Insider: “I’ve always thought he was a good player. He could be a real asset to somebody, but his form has been really up and down at Tottenham. I’ve been surprised about how far his levels have dropped since he’s been there.

“That might be because there’s been a lot of disruption going on around him or because he’s being asked to do a job he’s not really suited to. I think he’s better playing with the game in front of him in a bit of a deeper role. I don’t think he fits in with what Postecoglou is trying to do and he’s not really going to be part of his plans in the long-term. They’ve got other options he prefers in that position, and I hear they’re going to look to sign somebody too. So I think they’ll be open to offers for him when the window opens and I can see him leaving the club. If Bissouma leaves, he’s going to need replacing, and the scouting department are already working on finding that player behind the scenes.“

Bissouma has been with Spurs since 2022 when he arrived on a £30million deal from Brighton, making 72 league appearances. He has made 34 appearances across all competitions this season, forming a regular part of Postecoglou’s plans. Given the size of their investment and the recency of it, Tottenham will want to make a decision on Bissouma either way this summer, with a free departure likely the least desired outcome.
