Tottenham handed another major injury blow as 'very talented' player could miss three months
Tottenham look set to be without another key player for at least a couple of months.
Tottenham are said to have been hit with another major injury blow following a torrid run of luck on the injury front. Spurs picked up a big win in the Champions League this week, defeating Borussia Dortmund to put themselves on course for an automatic progression spot for the Round of 16 with one group phase game remaining.

Thomas Frank will have been delighted with the win, which will prove an important distraction after a disappointing run of form in the Premier League that has left his side in the bottom half.
Spurs have had a nightmare with injuries of late, with Mohammed Kudus, Rodrigo Bentancur and Richarlison all suffering blows in the last few weeks, and all three are going to be out for at least a couple of months, leaving Frank down a winger, striker and midfielder, although the signing of Conor Gallagher will help ease the latter.
Other new signings are expected as Tottenham look to plug the holes, but in a fresh blow, it now looks as though another player is going to be out for an extended period of time.
According to Fotbollskanalen, Lucas Bergvall is now set for two to three months on the sidelines after picking up an injury against Dortmund. With James Maddison out for the season, Bergvall was providing key competition for Xavi Simons in the attacking midfield role, and he has also provided important cover out wide amid a lack of options there.
T|he report claims Bergvall is now out for Sweden’s World Cup qualifier in March, with the injury said to be a recurrence of a previous issue.
Frank a big fan of Bergvall’s
Speaking last month, Frank praised Bergvall for his evident talent. He said: "Lucas is very talented. I think he will end up as what we call an eight, that's where I think he will end, but who knows? He's more than capable of playing as a 10 or he can play a more midfield role from the side as he did against Liverpool.
“He's a player we can use in different roles which is hugely beneficial and important, to have that player who can run in behind, he's very good at pressing, good on the ball and he can drive forward with the ball. Over time he will fall into a more fixed position. It's completely normal for a young player to play in different positions. To be that flexible is a huge boost. Look at Szoboszlai, who we all think is one of the best midfielders in the league."
Frank on Dortmund win
Speaking about Tottenham’s big performance after the win over Dortmund, Frank said: “Yeah, I really enjoyed the performance and the win, of course. I think especially the first half, I felt we were very good. I think we started exceptionally well, on top of them, pressed them, calm on the ball, produced chances, created opportunities, scored a good goal, and kept going, then scored the second goal, which of course is also super important. So, everything about the first half, I was extremely happy with. I think it's definitely some of the best we've done.
“Second half, I would have loved us to keep the ball a bit better. I would have loved to have killed it with some of the big chances, just the 3-0, but we know in football it's never easy, even if you play 11 against 10. Also because the momentum is they have to push a bit and then of course, we all knew it was an important win to get, especially at home, of course, we haven't been as confident. So, the performance and the win can we build on? Then I asked for the fans to help everyone, especially the team and the players and they were exceptional, especially the first half. You felt it was that one of these, how can you say, a little bit special European nights. You felt the energy was quite unique. So, that was very nice."
