Tottenham linked with Leeds United star who Daniel Farke has described as a 'colossus'
Tottenham are being linked with a defender currently playing for one of their Premier League rivals.
Tottenham are being linked with a Premier League defender as they cast their recruitment staff cast their eyes ahead to January and the summer. Spurs had a solid summer transfer window, adding real depth to their squad between the likes of Joao Palhinha, Randal Kolo Muani, Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus.

Frank will have been pleased with the quality added, and he is already showing what he can do with it, overseeing a solid start so far that has suggested that Tottenham will be a very different prospect from what they were under Ange Postecoglou last season.
It doesn’t look likely Tottenham will spend big in January, but they could add a player or two, especially if there are injuries between now and then, while next summer’s business will be totally dependent on the level of success managed between now and then.
But we are still seeing some early rumours, and one of them involves Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk, who is reportedly been tracked by Spurs. That’s according to CaughtOffside, who say Tottenham have done their homework on the 26-year-old who has been a key part of the Leeds defence under Daniel Farke.
Struijk is under contract until 2027 as things stand, and according to Graeme Bailey, Leeds will likely look to extend his deal to keep him out of the reach of rivals. He told Leeds United.News: “I never got a feeling he was going to leave. Farke made him feel wanted. I don’t think that’ll [new contract] be far off. He’s a fabulous player. He does attract interest. You know, Leeds have to be careful
“We know the likes of Brighton have looked at him in the past and you know, if they lose a Jan Paul van Hecke, would they look at Struijk? We know that Tottenham looked at him as well. Left-sided centre-backs are worth their weight in gold. If Brentford lose Nathan Collins they could come in. Leeds will be looking to extend him because there’s an awful lot of clubs who would take him.”
Farke praise for Struijk
Farke is clearly a big fan of Struijk’s, and speaking about the defender in late August, he said: “I think he was outstanding, top performance, really like a colossus in the defence, won many, many headers.
“But Pascal was very good on the ball, good in the build-up, important, also aggressive in defending forward, [and showed] good leadership. He was an outstanding player for us in the last season and has proven his worth. Of course, he’s a big leader also in the dressing room, but nowadays it’s not just up to one or two players, you need a core group who lead. Each and every player has to show responsibility, but of course, we have a good group of leaders.” Leeds have enjoyed a solid start to the season and it’s very unlikely they would even consider selling Struijk until at least the summer.
