Tottenham transfer news: Spurs ‘lead chase’ for Serie A international, Chelsea and Man Utd ‘monitoring’ PL striker

Tottenham midfielder Oliver Skipp is set for a spell on the sidelines after picking up an injury in training this week, while Yves Bissouma is still struggling with hamstring problems.

Skipp missed a chunk of last season due to a hip complication, and was working his way back to full fitness when he suffered a hairline fracture in his heel.

There has not been any time frame given for when he will return, but the initial assessment is that he will miss this weekend’s Premier League opener against Southampton.

Likewise, new signing Yves Bissouma has been struggling with hamstring injury, and will not be risked over the weekend.

The midfielder missed the club’s recent trip to South Korea due to Covid and has been unable to shake off a hamstring complication since.

Antonio Conte’s side start their 2022/2023 campaign with a home game against the Saints, before making the short trip to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea.
