Tottenham injury update: Ben Davies, James Maddison and Lo Celso latest news and return dates

Tottenham are sweating over the fitness of Ben Davies and Giovani Lo Celso ahead of their visit to Old Trafford this weekend.

Tottenham began life without club captain Son Heung-min with a win against Burnley in the FA Cup but they face a bigger test in Erik ten Hag's Manchester United this weekend.

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou will head to Old Trafford looking for another three points that keep their top-four hopes alive and their winning run going. The former Celtic manager has overachieved so far, but he faces a different test in losing players to the AFCON and Asian Cup.

The two tournaments plus injuries to some key players mean he'll have to pick his team carefully and manage minutes effectively on the field. There was some good news though in the last game when left-back Ryan Sessegnon made his long-awaited return to the field, his first minute in 10 months for the Lilywhites.

Micky van de Ven was also named on the bench for the first time since November last year while Rodrigo Bentancur was named captain in the absence of Son, James Maddison and Cristian Romero.

Tottenham showed they were up there with the best teams when they had their full squad, winning eight of their first 10 league games.

The club's medical team will be keeping an eye on Ben Davies, who has slotted in well since the injury to van de Ven but looked to have picked up a hamstring injury against Burnley with Giovani Lo Celso also finishing the game with some pain.

Here is the list of injured Spurs players and their potential return dates:
