Cristian Romero, James Maddison, Micky van de Ven: Tottenham injuries and expected return dates

Tottenham will take on Brighton and Hove Albion without key players due to injury.

Cristian Romero is expected to be fit for Tottenham’s clash away to Brighton, despite being forced off against Everton due to a hamstring tightness in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Everton.

The Argentinian defender was a huge doubt for the game at the Amex, but LondonWorld sources say he will be assessed before the game and is considered likely to start alongside Ben Davies at centre-back against Roberto de Zerbi's side.

Dutch centre-half Micky van de Ven is still out until January with a hamstring injury but Ben Davies has been great since stepping in and is likely to continue until van de Ven returns next year. Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou has fought off injuries and suspensions which threatened to derail their campaign and has led his side back to three wins on the spin.

The Lilywhites are also without the creative force James Maddison provides but they have tried to supplement that with the careful use of Giovani Lo Celso who has been strongly linked with a January move to Barcelona

Not many expected Tottenham to be fourth in the league table at Christmas, after losing Harry Kane and Antonio Conte publicly questioning the character and commitment of his players following a 3-3 draw at Southampton but here we are.

Midfielder Yves Bissouma will not play for the club again until after the AFCON due to a suspension and Pape Matar Sarra will join him in the Ivory Coast but Destiny Udogie will return from his one-game suspension.

So with three points at stake, below is the list of Tottenham players and when they will be ready to return to action.
