Tottenham have been strongly linked to a striker who scored 13 goals in the Turkish league last season.

Tottenham are reportedly close to raiding Fenerbahce, managed by Jose Mourinho, for striker Sebastian Szymanski, with talks advanced. The Polish striker scored 13 goals last season and is currently playing at the Euros with his country. According to Turkish media, Spurs are strongly leading the race for his signature.

Aslinda today reports that negotiations are nearing completion between Tottenham and Fenerbahce, and the player looks set for a move to England. The report further adds that personal terms have already been agreed upon between the player and the Lilywhites, with only the transfer fee left to be settled.

Once everything is finalized, Szymanski is expected to sign a four-year deal in North London as Ange Postecoglou searches for a striker to provide competition for both Richarlison and captain Son Heung-min. Tottenham have reportedly offered around £15 million for the striker, but they may need to increase their bid as they rated him around £25million the reports have said. PSG and Juventus are among the clubs showing interest in him too.

LondonWorld opinion:

Tottenham have added Europa League games to their schedule this season and will need a bigger squad to compete for the Premier League title and perform well in cup competitions. They have been linked to Dutch defender Lutsharel Geertruida as they look to generate competition at the back.

There is an expectation that they will add another midfielder, even if Pierre-Emile Højbjerg doesn't leave the club as expected.

Last season, they started the campaign on fire, winning eight of the first 10 games before the wheels came off due to injuries and suspensions. This year, the target is a top-four finish and winning at least one cup competition. Strengthening the squad with quality players is definitely a step in the right direction.
