Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to bounce back from their North London derby defeat to Arsenal last weekend when they come up against fellow high-flyers Brighton on Saturday evening.

Spurs suffered their first Premier League defeat of the season at the Emirates, and will be wary of the threat posed by an Albion side who lie just three points and one place beneath them in the table - albeit with the added advantage of a game in hand.

For their part, the Seagulls battled to an impressive 3-3 draw against Liverpool at Anfield last Saturday, and themselves have been beaten just once in the top flight this term.

Before this evening’s clash, however, there is still plenty of Spurs-related transfer speculation to work through...

Spurs offer Conte mega new deal

Tottenham are offering Antonio Conte a new deal worth in excess of £20 million-a-year, according to Football Insider.

The Italian’s current 18-month contract is due to expire at the end of the season, and Spurs are understood to be eager to tie him down to an extension.

Club chiefs are said to be “in talks” with Conte over an agreement that would be equivalent to roughly £400,000-a-week that would make him the highest-paid manager in the Premier League. It is understood that there is an increasing sense of confidence that a deal can be struck, with Spurs keen to wrap up negotiations before the January transfer window opens.

“No doubts” over Kulusevski deal

Tottenham “have no doubts” about completing a permanent deal to secure the services of loanee attacker Dejan Kulusevski, according to CalcioMercato.

Spurs initially signed the Swede for an £8.8 million loan fee, and have since reaped the benefits of his temporary stint with the club. The 22-year-old has registered six goals and 11 assists in 29 outings in England, and has impressed throughout his stay.

As such, it is claimed that Spurs have been satisfied enough with Kulusevski’s output to make a permanent swoop for his signature. Club chiefs are said to be “preparing” an agreement with the player’s parent club, Juventus, while for their part, the Italian giants are “ready to make money” with a sale that will likely cost around £30.8 million.
