Ange Postecoglou has received excellent transfer news after it has emerged that Timo Werner will likely be available for a full move this summer. The RB Leipzig outcast has spent the last two months on loan in North London and reports from Sky Deutschland have indicated that the 28-year-old no longer has a future with the Bundesliga side.

Werner is the club's second highest earner and has a salary of £165,000-a-week and Leipzig are keen to remove this huge sum from their wage bills in the upcoming transfer window. The news emerges at an excellent time for Spurs after BILD reported that the 28-year-old was loving his time in N17 and would be keen to extend his stay.

The reports from Sky Deutschland add to this by indicating that there is interest from both Spurs and Werner in making the loan deal permanent in the upcoming transfer window. The forward has a release clause of just £15m in his contract as well, making the limited financial burden an additional bonus for the Lilywhites.

Werner has provided two goals and two assists in his eight Premier League appearances since joining in January and Postecoglou's staff are said to be very impressed with the German's attitude. While he may not be regarded as one of the hottest striking talents in Europe - recently receiving criticism for his form in Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Fulham - his speed allows him to run in behind extremely effectively, making space for Heung-min Son and with only £15m on the line, it seems a deal the former Celtic boss would be unwise to turn down.

What is confirmed, however, is that whether or not Postecoglou snaps Werner up or not, the striker will not return to RB Leipzig for the 2024/25 season.

Werner is currently in his second sting with RB Leipzig having moved from Chelsea in 2022. In his two years at Stamford Bridge, the forward won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and was a two-time FA Cup runner-up. During his first spell at RB Leipzig, the forward scored 78 goals in 127 Bundesliga appearances but his return has fallen flat. Werner also has 24 international goals in 57 appearances for Germany.
