Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a bizarre update in their hope of acquiring further investment into the club after the company with which Amanda Staveley invested in Newcastle United went into voluntary liquidation.
On Monday, it was revealed that Redstart Leisure Limited had filed a special resolution to wind-up the company and a voluntary liquidator was to be appointed as the links between Staveley and a potential investment in Spurs continue to intensify.

The latter move came after a legal battle with Greek shipping mogul Victor Restis who won a court case over a £3.4 million bill he was owed after investing in the ex-Newcastle director’s business ventures.
The liquidation of Staveley’s latest company could signal the start of her and her husband Merhdad Ghoudoussi’s business interests as they are set to make a move in another football club, following their St James Park departures this summer.
Staveley, who had been instrumental in the 2021 Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund takeover of Newcastle, said in an interview last month with The Athletic: “Very sadly, we have to move on to other projects and that might involve us taking a stake in another club or buying another club and that’s difficult. But it’s possible.”

Speaking at the fans’ forum, Levy said: “We announced with our last results that we believe this club needs a bigger capital base because we've got a lot of exciting projects on the horizon and we want to make further investment in the teams.
"Some form of minority investment is what we're looking for. We've got nothing to announce at the moment but we are in the market."
To strengthen the recent links between Staveley and the north London side, the ex-Magpies chief was most recently present in a VIP box on Sunday as the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium played host to the NFL London match-up between Jacksonville Jaguars and Chicago Bears, having previously been in the crowd for Spurs’ 3-1 win over Brentford last month.
