Spurs are looking to build for the future according to the latest media reports.

It’s a pivotal time of the season for many clubs as leagues across the country begin to become stretched, and each club’s true place in the pecking order becomes evident. Wednesday night’s defeat to Southampton was a huge blow for Tottenham Hotspur’s ambitions as the club’s chase for a top four spot was dented.

With Arsenal going on to win at Wolves on Thursday, Spurs can afford few slip-ups as they bid to try and make the top four this season.

At least the club, and managing director of football Fabio Paratici, were active in January recruiting two players and offloading four seniors. Antonio Conte is eager to find the right dressing room chemistry and ability on the pitch, as his team look to go on and secure a seat at the top table of elite European football.

Even though it may have led to an initial set-back with Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski not quite ready to start in the Premier League, Lilywhites fans must hope that the pair can go on and inspire their team to do better in their upcoming matches weeks than the harrowing midweek loss to the Saints.

The race for the top four promises to hold plenty more twists and turns yet, but it will likely have grave consequences for whoever loses.

Will Harry Kane push to leave again next summer if not playing in the Champions League with two years left on his contract?

On the flip side, will Arsenal be able to land the striker that they want in the next transfer window if only in the Europa League?

Regarding the summer, however, and future direction of Tottenham Hotspur, there remains much coverage of what the next months hold for Conte and co.
