Tottenham Hotspur prepare move for Barcelona winger as Villarreal ace remains under consideration

Antonio Conte has been linked with a double La Liga swoop as he looks to further strengthen his squad.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing Barcelona forward Memphis Depay as they prepare to sell Steven Bergwijn.

Everton and Ajax have been heavily linked with a move for the Spurs winger - but it is the latter that are closing in on a £30million deal to take Bergwijn back to the Eredivise.

Antonio Conte is set to make a move for Dutch international Depay to fill the void left behind by Bergwijn as the former Manchester United star enters the final 12 months of his current deal at the Camp Nou.

The 28-year-old was a surprise addition to the Barca ranks when he moved to La Liga following an impressive four-year spell with Ligue 1 club Lyon.

A return of 13 goals in 37 games in all competitions had provided the Catalan giants with a solid return but Depay is now set to fall further down the ranks as Barca coach Xavi looks to add Leeds United star Raphinha to his squad.

With French winger Ousmane Dembele also looking increasingly to remain at Barcelona, Depay will find regular game-time hard to come by and Spanish outlet Sport have reported Spurs are looking to take advantage of his situation by giving the forward a second crack at life in the Premier League.

The two clubs are already involved in negotiations are Spurs look to take French centre-back Clement Lenglet on a season-long loan move with an option for a permanent deal.

Villarreal star remains under consideration

Torres has been linked with a move to Manchester for a year now and are thought to have revived their interest in the defender, though they are yet to make their move.

Spurs’ move for Lenglet has not impacted on their interest in Villarreal centre-back Pau Torres.

The Spain international has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League after shining for the La Liga club over the last two years.

Manchester United and Newcastle United have been suggested as possible destinations but it is Spurs that have been heavily suggested as the more likely club to secure his services.

90Min have claimed Antonio Conte will still make a move for Torres even if he can complete a loan deal for Lenglet over the coming days.
