They feel that bringing Caceres to the club would be an excellent way to improve their backline - even if the pair of Micky Van de Ven and Cristian Romero have been doing a stellar job thus far.
Who else, besides Tottenham, are interested in a move for Sebastian Caceres?
Tottenham are not alone in their pursuit of Caceres. Recently, Football Insider reported that Manchester United, Newcastle United, Fulham and West Ham United are also interested in the player.

Do Tottenham need defensive reinforcements?
In the middle of defence, Spurs can currently call upon Cristian Romero, Micky Van de Ven, Eric Dier and Ashley Phillips. Of these four, Phillips is just 18 years of age - and Dier is out of contract in the summer of 2024.
They can also play Ben Davies at centre-back, but he struggles to function effectively outside of a back three - something that Postecoglou does not utilise, preferring to employ a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Signing Caceres would be a fantastic way to do this - even if he is somewhat diminutive to be playing in a back two at just 5ft 11. His contract at Club America is set to expire on December 31st, 2024 - if Spurs can afford to wait that long, they could snap him up for free.
