Four Manchester City players are back in training ahead of the game against Spurs.

City have had issues recently, losing four games in a row for the first time under Pep Guardiola who reportedly agreed a contract extension at the Etihad Stadium this week. They have faced injury problems with several key players missing time, however, they could face a boost ahead of Spurs’ visit. Tottenham will hope that the game will come too soon for four players who have all been seen in training this week according to ManchesterWorld who suggest that they could be back in action this weekend.

City star in defence expected to return against Spurs

In what is a big blow for Tottenham, Man City could see the return of centre-back John Stones who has been sat on the side-lines for almost a month as he missed three games before the international break. The England international has been dealing with a Fasciitis splinter in his feet, however, he is back in training now and expected to be ready to play against Spurs this weekend, meaning City could have a full-strength defence for the first time in what will feel a long time for Pep Guardiola.

Attacking trio set to return against Spurs

Another blow for Tottenham will come in the form of City trio Phil Foden, Jack Grealish and Matthues Nunes who are all set to return at the weekend after they were spotted training with the team this week. Grealish and Foden both missed out on Lee Carsley’s final international break as England interim manager due to their injuries, but have used the break to recover ready for the weekend. Foden’s return was never questioned for this week, but Jack Grealish was very much a doubt.

Nunes has been dealing with a minor injury which is now fully recovered meaning that he will also be available for selection against Spurs on Saturday. It means that City could have a strengthened attack which won’t be what Spurs fans want to hear. Nathan Ake, Manuel Akanji, Jeremy Doku, Ruben Dias, and Oscar Bobb are all doubts for the weekend as they recover from injury, but with the chance of all of them being fit, City could virtually have a full-strength squad.

Spurs star in defence remains out injured

Tottenham will be without defender Micky van de Ven on Saturday which is a big loss as he continues to deal with a hamstring injury which is set to keep him out until December.

Spurs could also be without Wilson Odobert, Richarlison, Christian Romero and Timo Werner due to injury against City which means that Ange Postecoglou may have to get creative with his team selection.
