Tottenham Hotspur fans photos through the decades - White Hart Lane to Harry Kane

We pick out photographs of Spurs supporters in the last 100 years, through the good times and the tough.

Spurs may be in turmoil right now, but fans have seen it all before (well, almost).

The club was founded in 1882 as Hotspur FC and for most of its history fans poured into White Hart Lane, which served as its home from 1899 to 2017.

In that time, supporters saw them win the double, enjoy European glory and get relegated.

Of course, football was also interrupted by two world wars, and in the second of those, Arsenal (founded in Woolwich in 1986) shared White Hart Lane while Highbury was used as a government air raid precautions centre.

After a short spell based at Wembley, Spurs moved into their new home - currently called Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, until a sponsorship deal arrives - in 2019.

Fans had only just got comfortable when the pandemic saw them locked out. During the height of the pandemic, the stadium was used as a community food hub.

Since losing the Champions League final in 2019, and the departure of Mauricio Pochettino, the club has struggled to progress and to deliver the football the stadium deserves.

Whoever takes over as the next permanent manager has their work cut out to live up to Tottenham Hotspur’s great heritage - and please the fans who make it what it is.
