Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Adama Traore this month.

The London club reportedly had a £15 million bid for the winger rejected by Wolves earlier this week and now face competition from Barcelona.

According to Sky Sports News, the Catalan giants are in talks over a move for Traore.

Barcelona have reportedly offered a loan move with an option to buy for £29 million at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old is thought to be keen on a return to the club where he started his career and Spurs’ eagerness to play him at wing-back has put Traore off a move to the English capital.

Traore has scored only one goal and assisted zero so far this season, but Barcelona clearly aren’t phased by his stats and are hopeful of completing a deal for the attacker.

The Spain international is out of contract in June 2023 and a new deal has been on the table for 15 minutes, with Wolves keen to heep him at Molineux Stadium.

Traore has spent six-and-a-half years in England, but he joined Barcelona at 8 years old and the possibility of returning to his former club could be hard to turn down.

If Spurs miss out on Traore this month then they have already been exploring alternative options, with Porto’s Luis Diaz a primary target.

Antonio Conte’s side had a £37.6 million bid rejected for the Colombian this week - who has a £66 million release clause.

It is unclear who Spurs will end up bringing in before deadline day, but they will need to act fast if they are to secure any signings over the next few days.
