Tottenham Hotspur will look to bolster their squad ahead of the January transfer window - they have a selection of young targets in mind.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with several young players as they look to patch up their depleted squad ahead of the January transfer window - including Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite and Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi.

That's not all - the North London club are also interested in Jean-Clair Todibo and Samuel Iling-Junior, according to Sky Sports. Ange Postecoglou's men are stuck in a rut of poor form after a brilliant start to the season and the former Celtic boss will be hoping that some new arrivals could help them recapture some of their early-season form. Additionally, Tottenham are also considering making a move in the loan market. Former Celtic star Jota joined Al-Ittihad in the summer, but he could leave the Saudi Pro League on a loan deal. On top of this, Spurs are looking to offload players in the January window. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will be allowed to leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for a 'suitable fee' - as will 49-cap England international Eric Dier.

What positions do Spurs need to strengthen?

Currently, Spurs have a litany of injuries to their senior team. As things stand, Manor Solomon, Ivan Perisic, Rodrigo Bentancur, Micky Van de Ven, James Maddison, Ryan Sessegnon, Eric Dier and Alfie Whiteman are all out of action.

Plenty of defensive options are currently missing - as such, it makes sense that Tottenham are looking to bring in some cover in this area of the pitch. It is not the only position they need to strengthen, of course - they're also short of options in central midfield, given the absences of Maddison and Bentancur.

Son Heung-min could also be out for a few games, also - if this is the case, they will need to bring in some attacking players. All in all, it seems the Lilywhites have a busy January ahead of them.
