Tottenham handed surprise boost ahead of Brighton as 27-year-old is spotted in training

Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has missed the last four games due to a thigh injury.

Tottenham could have Giovani Lo Celso in the squad for the first time this year after he was spotted in training ahead of the game against Brighton and Hove Albion this afternoon. The midfielder had been battling a tough injury but manager Ange Postecoglou confirmed he was back in training.

Postecoglou told reporters: "Sonny [ Son Heung-min] did recovery on Thursday and trained today. Biss [Yves Bissouma] trained, Lo Celso trained.

"The only ones still out are Solomon and Sessegnon. Sonny and Biss they trained well. Gio trained all week but he's missed a fair bit of football so we'll see whether he needs another week or not."

Lo Celso's potential return to the squad adds to that of Yves Bissouma and club captain Son Heung-min after both returned from international duty this week. Spurs drew 2-2 with Everton last weekend but are looking for their seventh consecutive home win.

Tottenham vs Brighton

Brighton are looking to win back-to-back league matches against Spurs for the first time, but they will have to do that without manager Roberto De Zerbi who is suspended for this one due to accumulation of yellow cards.

The Seagulls have just one win in their last nine Premier League away games, conceding 21 goals so this one is going to be one of the most intense away days for Brighton. For Spurs, they have scored at least twice in eight league fixtures in a row for the first time since a streak of 11 in 2011.
