Tottenham favourite defends Daniel Levy but sends transfer warning ahead of key summer

Tottenham chief Daniel Levy has been defended over his spending - or perceived lack thereof - in recent times amid frustration among the fanbase. Spurs have endured a nightmare campaign that has left them stranded in the bottom of the Premier League.
Ange Postecoglou’s men can still secure European qualification by winning the Europa League, but it looks like a big ask despite a solid performance in the first leg of the quarter final on Thursday night. Tottenham drew 1-1 in the home leg, but they were very unlucky not to win, with Frankfurt holding on for dear life at times.

But Levy is a shrewd businessman, and there is a flipside to responsible spending, with Tottenham a very financially sound club that has found itself in a good position with finances and facilities, setting up a bright future.
That’s a sentiment Spurs favourite Teddy Sheringham has echoed when speaking to casinoapps.com. He said: “Yeah, I've been a backer of Daniel Levy, over the last few years. It all depends which way you see it, whether Mauricio Pochettino wasn't given enough money when they were in a really good position after getting to the final of the Champions League. Levy has said that Poch didn’t want to spend, but I don't think a manager ever turns something down like that.
“If he knows that he's got money to spend, you just try, from years of experience, you know that you need to keep improving your team to make you better so that you don't stand still. If you stand still, you become worse. So you have to keep improving.

You have to accept that Tottenham are not going to be buying the top players. They're not in that area at the moment, but you have to strive to do what you need to do with the players available to get to the next level. You're getting decent players and then you have to get good management and good organization to get you to that next level, to get you year in, year out in the Champions League spots.”
The next thing Tottenham must get right is their decision over Postecoglou, whether to keep the Australian, and if they do move on, they must get their next appointment right. It looks as though Mauricio Pochettino will not be available this summer, with the Argentine contractually bound to USMNT until after the 2026 World Cup, with a very high compensation package in place in case he leaves before that point.
