Full list of Tottenham contract expiries as Thomas Frank 'close' to striking new agreement
Tottenham are said to be closing in on a new contract, but what other deals do they need to address?
Tottenham are said to be working on a new deal for one of their current stars with the club needing to make a number of decisions, and ideally before January. As always, players who are out of contract next summer are free to agree pre-contract agreements with clubs outside England from January, and Spurs will want to avoid such agreements.

Four players are currently in that situation, and Frank may already have a good idea of who he wants to keep around now that he has had some time at the club to assess his squad. One player he is said to be keen on keeping is midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur, who has been a key part of the midfield, along with Pape Matar Sarr and Joao Palhinha.
According to football.london, Tottenham are now ‘close’ to agreeing a new deal with Bentancur as they look to keep the midfielder around beyond next summer. With Bentancur only 28 years of age and operating consistently at a high level, that should come as no surprise. But what other contract situations might Tottenham need to address? Here we take a look.

Frank knows Bentancur’s importance
Spurs boss Frank spoke recently about the importance of Bentancur, admitting after a draw with Brighton: “I will always look back at it but a good, old coach told me once that the line-up you picked, you did that for a reason and you don’t know what would happen if you pick the other one. Maybe you would have lost 2-0.
“So, I need to go with what I believe in of course. That is not to say I am not watching the game back and not reflecting and thinking. I actually think first half was quite good and we created enough. We would like to create a bit more, yes but actually after I took Rodri out, you could say it didn’t work because we lost the structure, so who knows? One thing is for sure, we need to do a little bit better in the second half.
“Of course I try to look into what is the best midfield. I think it is fair to say both Rodri and Joao have been very good for us so far this season and Lucas (Bergvall) has been fantastic, so you like to keep your players a little bit in flow.”
