Tottenham are currently in the running to bolster their backline with the signing of young centre-back Abdukodir Khusanov from Lens. The 20-year-old was signed just 18 months ago from Belarusian side Energetik-BGU Minsk in a deal worth just €100,000 (£82,800) and he has quickly forced his way into their senior side.
Khusanov has featured in all but two Ligue 1 fixtures so far this season, which he missed due to a red card suspension. The Uzbekistan international is under contract with Lens until 2027 but according to The Telegraph, he is ‘attracting scouts from Europe’s top teams’, including seven Premier League clubs. Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with Khusanov but Spurs and Newcastle United are also ‘chasing’ the rising star.
Lens are in good stead to make a significant profit on the defender, who could command more than £25 million in the current market, with room for that figure to increase. Spurs will reportedly decide whether they need a new centre-back in January, following their recent spell of unfortunate luck with injuries.
La Liga side ‘willing to negotiate hard’ for Spurs outcast
It is becoming increasingly obvious that Sergio Reguilón is not part of the bigger picture at Tottenham and will be leaving in 2025 either in the January window or as a free agent. Fortunately, it seems the defender already has an option available him, which could involve a return home to Spain.

Hide AdAccording to Spanish outlet Superdeporte, La Liga side Getafe are interested in signing Reguilón and are ‘willing to negotiate hard’ for his signature. As he has experience with the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United, Getafe are open to either a move in the winter window, or an approach at the end of the season when his contract expires.
Amid interest in a permanent move, Reguilón is also reportedly considering the option of going out on loan again. If this happens, it is an ‘indirect way’ of Tottenham confirming they will be parting ways with him. He is currently valued at €12 million (£10m).
