Hugo Lloris says Cristian Stellini has been tasked by the board to ensure continuity and see out what has been largely a challenging season for Tottenham following the sacking of Antonio Conte.

The Lilywhites could only draw against Everton on Monday night, leaving them fourth on the Premier League table, they have crucially failed to win their last four away games.

The game at Goodison was the perfect opportunity to get all three points as the Toffees were reduced to 10-men momentarily, even though Luacs Moura’s challenge on Michael Keane ensured Tottenham lost their man advantage and eventually lost their goal advantage.

Captain Lloris who made a return to the team after seven weeks out due to knee injury was visibly disappointed with the outcome but refused to blame the new boss as he’s only been tasked to find solutions to what has been a chaotic campaign.

The long-serving french goalkeeper told reporters: “Cristian knows very well the players, he knows the club well. He’s just here to give continuity and try to finish the job as well as we can.

“Again, I repeat, it is also the responsibility of everyone, not only one person more than the other.

“It’s players, coaching staff, medical staff, all the people involved to create the right energy.”

The Lilywhites will now turn attention to this weekend’s game against an in-form Brighton and Hove Albion side who are also looking to finish in an European spot for the first time in Premier League history.
