Tottenham and Wales defenderBen Davies has been ruled out of his country’s international games against Croatia and Latvia due to a hamstring injury he picked up at the St Mary’s.

The Welshman was forced off early in the disappointing 3-3 draw with Southampton and the hope was that the injury would be minor, but as things stand he’s facing at least six weeks out according to a report on football.London.

The 29-year-old had a scan and the level of damage on his hamstring is severe and now in a race to get back in time for the final weeks of the season for Tottenham who are still in the race for top four in the Premier League.

Davies has worked hard to retain his starting slot in Antonio Conte’s team, he was one of the players who were producing at a high standard, and there is a point to be made that his injury against Southampton played a part in the Lilywhites throwing away a two goals lead to draw in the end.

Tottenham already have captain Hugo Lloris out with injury even though he is expected to return in the next couple of weeks from the knee injury that has kept him out for almost a month.

Midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur has also been ruled out of the season due to a knee injury while summer signing Yves Bissouma is also still recovering from an injury he picked up in training.

The future of manager Antonio Conte is still up in the air after his rant following the teams 3-3 draw at Southampton.
