Tottenham are back in action on Thursday when they face North London rivals Arsenal in a Hong Kong friendly. Spurs have played against lower league opposition to this point, and they will now step up their preparations against a Premier League title hopeful.

This will be Spurs’ first game in Asia this summer, so it will be interesting to see how they adapt against a team that has already played two games in the East so far this summer. In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Emirates Stadium.
Spence offer
Tottenham have reportedly offered full-back Djed spence a new contract with improved terms despite the fact his current contract is set to last up until 2028. Fabrizio Romano posted: “Djed Spence’s camp received new contract proposal from Tottenham… and he’s keen on accepting. Talks underway. @pokeefe1.“
Spence enjoyed a very positive season of last in a campaign that saw few players stand out. The full-back has struggled in the past, but he finally looks to have found his feet, and he could now cash in on his reward. His ability to play both sides will also mean Spence is likely to be able to play regularly again this season, even if he is not the first choice full-back on either side.
Van Hecke battle
Tottenham are said to be interested in a deal to sign Brighton star Jan Paul van Hecke as they look to add more depth and quality to their defence this summer. According to Voetbal International, both Spurs and Newcastle United are interested in a deal for the defender who has two years remaining on his contract at this stage.
The report adds that van Hecke is not interested in signing a contract extension with Brighton because he wants to play Champions League football. Both Tottenham and Newcastle United can offer that, and it will be interesting to see which o the two sides makes a push to get a deal done having both been linked with Marc Guehi this summer.
Van de Ven on NLD
Tottenham star Micky van de Ven has been speaking about Thursday’s friendly clash with Arsenal. He told SpursPlay: “It’s a massive game for us. It’s the north London derby. Even if it’s pre-season, it’s a big game. You always want to win the north London derby. It’s a massive game and a good test. It’s also really important to get in the minutes in pre-season. It’s good to play against a good opponent like Arsenal to have a good test to go into the Super Cup and Premier League.”
Speaking about his current state of fitness after injury troubles aplenty last season, the centre-back added: “I feel fit and ready to go,” he said. “Winning the trophy gives us confidence, of course. It was an unbelievable way to end the season last season. Everyone has the taste now of winning something, so I have the feeling that everyone wants to do it all over again.”
