All the latest injury news surrounding Tottenham and Aston Villa ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash.

Tottenham pulled off a huge win on Wednesday night, defeating Manchester City in the Carabao Cup to take a step closer to Wembley. Spurs have been below par so far this season, but the win over City could be the momentum spark they have been desperately searching for.

All eyes now turn to Sunday’s home clash with top four contenders Aston Villa to see whether Ange Postecoglou can build on that impressive win. Here we round up all the latest injury news, largely surrounding Tottenham with Villa currently having a clean bill of health.

Djed Spence - Doubt

Spence is still a doubt and is unlikely to be ready for this one, with Postecoglou saying last week: “He's getting closer. Hopefully, next week, he’ll be joining up with [team] training.”

Son Heung-min - Doubt

Postecoglou confirmed earlier this week: “Sonny is almost fit, but probably from our perspective, we'll aim for the weekend.” He remains a doubt, but Son should be in contention.

Wilson Odobert - Out

It’s unclear when Odobert will return after he picked up a fresh injury. Postecoglou said: “It’s not exactly the same [injury] but same area.”

Micky van de Ven - Doubt

Van de Ven picked up a hamstring concern on Wednesday night with Postecoglou saying: “Micky felt something in his hamstring. I haven't got the full update on him but he definitely felt something and we'll see how he is.”

Timo Werner - Fit

There was concern that Werner picked up an injury against City, but that is not the case. Postecoglou said after the game: “Timo hasn't played a lot so I felt it was more fatigue hopefully than anything else.”

It’s a similar case for Romero, with Postecoglou adding: “Cuti was a bit tired. I contemplated changing him at half-time but after losing Micky as well I didn't want to lose another centre-half.”
