Football fans are enduring the first international break in the Premier League season and already there's been plenty to think about after the first four rounds of fixtures.

Tottenham Hotspur are flying under Ange Postecoglou, Erling Haaland is doing Erling Haaland things and David Moyes has proved his know-how as a seasoned Premier League manager.

Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag continues to put out, and perhaps start, fires at Manchester United as Everton look doomed for another relegation battle.

The team over at WhoScored rate player performances every week and below we run through their team of the season so far based on the stats.

GK - Jose Sa - 7.4

Wolves have conceded seven goals in their opening four Premier League fixtures but shot-stopped Jose Sa comes out as WhoScored's best goalkeeper so far this term. He was certainly inspired in his team's 1-0 win over Everton.

LB - Nathan Ake - 7.4

Nathan Ake has slowly grown into one of the stars of an impressive Manchester City defence. The 28-year-old also grabbed a goal in the side's 5-1 win over Fulham last weekend.

CB - Christian Romero - 7.6

It's all about attack at Tottenham Hotspur under Ange Postecoglou but the Spurs defenders have also turned heads for their work at both ends of the pitch. Romero already has two goals to his name this term.

CB - Joachim Andersen - 7.7

Crystal Palace look right to have fought off transfer interest in centre-back Joachim Andersen this summer. The Eagles have only lost to Arsenal so far this season and even that was a close-fought affair.

RB - Pedro Porro - 7.4

Pedro Porro didn't make the Spurs starting line-up on the first day of the season but has played, and won, every game since with two clean sheets and a goal in those matches.

LM - Son Heung-Min - 7.7

It took Son Heung-Min a few weeks to open his account this term but he did so in style with a hat-trick against Burnley last weekend. The 31-year-old will be hoping for a more prolific season than last.

CM - Rodri - 7.9

A player whose class in the middle of the park can seemingly never be overstated, Rodri has grabbed the headlines this season with a couple of goals and an assist in the opening four matches.

CM - James Maddison - 8.1

Former Leicester City star James Maddison has settled into life at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with aplomb. The England international is pulling the strings at the heart of Postecoglou's revolution and has a couple of goals and assists to show for it.

RM - Solly March - 7.8

Solly March is part of a Brighton side that seem to come back stronger every season, no matter who they lose in the transfer market. The 29-year-old from Eastbourne has three goals this season.

ST - Erling Haaland - 8.1

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has started where he left off this season. Six goals in the opening four fixtures is some going - could he break his own record this term?

ST - Julian Alvarez - 7.5

It's not quite been just the Erling Haaland show at Manchester City this year. Julian Alvarez is staking a claim to be much more than a back-up option to the Norwegian with a handful of impressive performances this term.
