This season, he has fallen behind Lois Openda in the pecking order and has only managed two league starts. A move back to the Premier League where he largely struggled will be seen as another opportunity to get it right and hopefully prove that under the right manager, he has what it takes to be a massive success.
Manchester United were also interested in him as they have struggled for goals this season, but it appears a move to London under Ange Postecoglou looks more exciting for the German forward.
Werner could be a hit at Spurs

Tottenham will be without club captain Song Heung-min who has joined up with his country for the Asian Cup, so signing him for six months represents a good deal for both parties, he gets to compete in a team that looks like they are going places, while Spurs get cover for Son and hopefully the goals he would have scored.
Spurs beat Burnley thanks to a stunning goal from the impressive Pedro Porro to progress to the fourth round of the FA Cup on Friday night, they'll hope that by the time they face Manchester United next Sunday in the league, they've bagged another exciting signing that lifts everyone and raises the level of competition within the squad.
