Tottenham got their season back on track with a brilliant 3-1 win over Brentford in the Premier League.

Tottenham reminded everyone how good they can be with a 3-1 win over Brentford, breathing life into their Premier League campaign after back-to-back defeats to Newcastle and Arsenal.Dominic Solanke, who was signed in the summer for £60 million, got his first goal for the club before Brennan Johnson and himself added another goal each to secure the win.

Surprisingly, it was Brentford who struck first, with Bryan Mbeumo scoring early in the game. However, the energetic and aggressive performance from Spurs, the kind that fans came to love under Postecoglou last season, quickly turned the tide.

Tottenham had energy and pressed the life out of a Brentford side that came with a plan to hit the home team early and compound their problems. Spurs' fanbase has been divided on Postecoglou’s impact on social media, but inside the stadium, it was clear that match-going fans adored him.

Every single fan was chanting the name of their Australian boss as Spurs forced Brentford into submission. If Daniel Levy had any thoughts of making a change due to Tottenham's difficult start to the season, the overwhelming support from the entire stadium (bar the Brentford fans) sent a clear message of love and trust in the process. That also came across as a warning not to touch the manager.

Reflecting on the game, Postecoglou told reporters that he felt his team had figured out Brentford's approach and used it against them. He said:"I thought the whole team was good. Everyone was really focused on making sure we dominated the game in the areas we wanted to dominate.

"We kind of knew that they’d try to play out a bit. That’s great for us because it gave us an opportunity to press really hard, and I thought all the midfielders supported the front three really well there.

"They were going to press us when we had the ball, and I thought Vic and the back four managed it really well, with the midfielders playing a key role in that. So I think everyone really contributed to a strong performance."

Tottenham will now hope to make it a hat-trick of wins when they take on Qarabag in the Europa Conference League in midweek.
