Where does the future lie for Harry Kane?

The future of Harry Kane remains one of the hottest talking points of the transfer window right now. The Tottenham Hotspur striker is heavily linked to an exit and Bayern Munich are the front-runners in the race for his signature.

But despite the Bavarians backing their pursuit of the England captain, Spurs are adamant they are not selling Kane. However, the slight niggle of him entering the final 12 months of his contract is a huge factor to consider. The club are doing all they can to convince him to stay and have tabled a new deal that would see him earn significantly more than his current £200,000 per week wage.

New manager Ange Postecoglou recently sat down with Kane and he revealed during a training camp press conference that the two had held initial discussions but no game-changing discussions over his future came to light.

“I had a good chat with Harry. It was nothing earth-shattering as people are seeking. Just a good chat, introduced myself, and we spoke mainly about the club, where it’s at and where he thinks can improve,” Postecoglou said.

“There are a lot of people who know Harry better than me, but he’s not going to get fazed by anything. He’s here and while he’s here, he’s totally committed to what we’re doing, and that’s the way I’ve seen things. The discussion wasn’t really about [the future], it was more about the collective and what we’re doing. Harry’s the same as all the other players, it’s not something I ask when they walk through the door, asking have you got a ticket or not.

“We’ve got nearly a month until the season starts, the transfer window’s still open, so we’ll see what transpires.”

It was recently reported that Daniel Levy was left ‘really angry’ after Bayern were said to be holding talks with Kane ‘behind his back for a long time.’ Because of this, he plans to turn down any revised bids from Thomas Tuchel’s side, after already rejecting a €70 million (£60m) offer, according to SPORT BILD.
