Tottenham manager Antonio Conte is building a fearsome team with the signing of some of the best talents in England and Europe.
Spurs have already completed three summer signings and we are only in June. All three instantly improve the squad and gives the manager different options.
The arrival of Fraser Forster is expected to test the ageing Hugo Lloris and the fact that he arrives with Premier League experience means he will be ready to go when needed, unlike some of the recent goalkeeping options.
Then there is experienced Ivan Perišić who arrived in north London having turned down the chance to extend his contract at Inter Milan.
The Croatian comes in with huge experience, pedigree and hunger to excel in the Premier League, having already played and excelled in the Bundesliga and Serie A.
He has been a winner almost everywhere he’s been and a chance to test his skills in the best league is what made him cross carpets.
But the most interesting signing of of the summer so far has been the arrival of Yvess Bissouma, who has 124 Premier League games for Brighton in four seasons. When he arrived from Lille in the summer of 2018, not many could pronounce his name. Well, now they literally sing it.
In the last few years he’s been chased by almost every top team in England and the fact that he’s decided to move to Tottenham is another proof of the pull of manager Antonio Conte.
Spurs are still in the market for a centre-back who can play in the left side of the back three and a few more wingers if possible, but the team is looking great and the signings have lifted spirits already.
Spurs finished fourth last season, a remarkable achievement given they were well off it at the start and had to change a manager.
With the new additions, they will be looking to challenge for the title and maintain their Champions League spot.
So with the signings so far, here is how we think Antonio Conte will set up.
