Tottenham’s Premier League and Champions League targets are hanging by a thread after reports that midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur- so crucial to the team’s success last season will be out for at least six months due to a cruciate injury he picked up over the weekend.

The former Juventus man opened the scoring against Leicester even though Spurs lost heavily in the end, what was generally a disappointing outing for the Lilywhites.

The worry for everyone at the club has been the scare midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur had at the King Power and now LondonWorld.com understands that he could be out for the rest of the season, the club will update during a press conference on Monday before the team flies out on Tuesday.

Bentancur’s injury blow adds to the fact that fellow midfielder Yves Bissouma also suffered an ankle injury and had surgery on Friday, missing the trip to the King Power.

Club captain Hugo Lloris also picked up a knee injury and is set to be out for at least six weeks with all trio now set to miss the games against AC Milan and the Premier League clash against Chelsea that follows.

Just a week ago-everything looked so bright at Tottenham with the club beating Premier League champions Manchester City and manager Antonio Conte successfully undergoing surgery to remove his gallbladder problem.

The latest injuries to key players and season defining games coming up Spurs will hope that their youngster can step up and keep them in the hunt for both domestic and European success.
