The exact date of his return is still unknown but the fact he’s back walking freely got fans excited as they hunt down Champions League football for next season.

The Lilywhites have had little luck when it comes to injuries, with Rodrigo Bentancur, defender Emerson Royal, Ryan Sessegnon and Bissouma all still not able to contribute to the team.

Brazilian forward Richarlison, signed from Everton for £60 million in the summer, has been battling a calf problem but made a return to the squad despite his manager saying he would not be involved this weekend. He didn’t come off the bench but the fact that he was name on the bench is another positive.

Important win to keep top-four hopes alive

Harry Kane scored an all-important winner to keep the hopes of Champions League alive in a game of margins. For large parts of the game, Brighton looked dangerous - but Tottenham had a threat on them which eventually proved the difference.

Kane, so deadly this season, was again at his tormenting best, winning balls on the halfway line and settingTottenham away on the counter attack at every given opportunity. The strike against Brighton was his 23rd league goal.

Brighton came into the game on the back of an impressive win at Bournemouth and were favourites but Spurs will be delighted they got the three points to hold on to fifth place in the league.
