Manchester United look set to complete the marquee signing of Lecce full-back Patrick Dorgu this week, ahead of upcoming Premier League clashes against London outfits Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur.
The Red Devils have booked a medical for the 20-year-old on Thursday, having reached an agreement with the Italian side and the player himself. That's according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano in an update on Wednesday morning.

Hide AdRomano took to social media platform X to write: "Manchester United have booked medical tests for Patrick Dorgu on Thursday, plan confirmed. Verbal agreement reached yesterday as reported for €30m plus €5m add-ons. He’s gonna fly to Manchester with his agents to complete the move."
Man Utd land €35 million transfer agreement
Manchester United had seen two bids for Dorgu rejected by the Serie A club, who were holding out for an offer of around £35 million. The second rejected Red Devils bid was believed to have been £27 million, with the final fee somewhere between there and the Lecce asking price.
Dorgu will become Ruben Amorim's first signing as Manchester United boss, having taken over from Erik ten Hag at the start of November. The full-back looked to be the ideal fit to play in Amorim's 3-4-2-1 system at the club.
The player arrives at Old Trafford to bring an end to selection issues due to the injury concerns of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia this season. Dorgu broke into football at Danish outfit Nordsjaelland before moving to Lecce in 2022.

Hide AdDorgu has since earned his first caps with the Denmark international side and has been praise by Nordsjaelland technical director Alexander Riget. As quoted by talkSPORT, Riget said: "He gets in the box, arrives for crosses, and that is linked to his physical capacity, which has definitely developed in recent years.
"But he has always been a good runner. He can cover a lot of distance and do it with high intensity. When he played for Nordsjaelland, we got the reports from the trackers and he was often one of those with the best and the highest physical numbers."
Crystal Palace and Spurs up next in Premier League for Ruben Amorim
It looks as if Manchester United will complete the deal for the defender ahead of upcoming Premier League matches with Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur. Amorim welcomes the Eagles to Old Trafford on Sunday, February 2, the day before the January window slams shut.
Oliver Glasner will be looking to bounce back from a painful home defeat to Brentford last time out. The Red Devils are in action before then, facing FCSB in Europa League action on Thursday night.
