It’s a massive night in the Premier League for Tottenham Hotspur who have the chance to reaffirm their title credentials with what would be a big win against Manchester United.
Spurs head to Old Trafford sitting third, four points behind league leaders Arsenal and level with reigning champions Manchester City in third. The top two were originally scheduled to go head-to-head in this round of fixtures but that has been postponed due to the Gunners’ UEFA Europa League commitments and they will instead face PSV Eindhoven on Thursday night. That means that Antonio Conte’s side will leapfrog City with a win or a draw this evening while victory would close the gap on their North London rivals to just a single point.
However, despite currently being level with Pep Guardiola’s team the bookmakers still see Spurs as massive outsiders to actually lift the title this season. The reigning champions are clear odds-on favourites while Arsenal remain a distant second. Perhaps most surprisingly, Tottenham are still longer odds than fellow London rivals Chelsea who remain third favourites. The Blues had a shaky start to the season under Thomas Tuchel but have been in great form since the appointment of Graham Potter.
