Hoffenheim vs Tottenham postponement latest as snow forecast ahead of Europa League clash
There is some adverse weather forecast close to Tottenham’s Europa League clash with Hoffenheim.
Tottenham could face some adverse weather when they face Hoffenheim in the Europa League. Spurs are currently in the play-off spots in the Europa League table, and they will be hoping to earn the privilege of skipping the play-off round over the remaining two games.
The first of those two games is against Hoffenheim, who are currently having a worse season than Tottenham, just one place and three points above the relegation zone in Bundesliga. In the Europa League, the German side are one point outside the play-off spots and in danger of crashing out of the competition.
That means this is a crucial game for both teams as the end of the group stages comes into sight, though the game itself has been called into question due to icy weather in the area of PreZero Stadium. There are highs of four degrees on Wednesday and six degrees on Thursday, with the mornings and evenings potentially hitting minus.
There is currently a warning for icy weather, and some forecasts show rain and snow forecast for Thursday. Though, thankfully for travelling fans, it looks as though the weather will clear up in the afternoon and ahead of kick-off at 6.45pm local time. It is worth keeping an eye on the forecast at this stage, however, and travelling fans should be aware of the adverse under-foot conditions they may encounter in Germany.
Tottenham will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing defeat to Everton here, with injuries continuing to plague their season. Though, it does look as though the likes of Cristian Romeo and Micky van de Ven will return in the coming weeks, even if this one does come too soon. It will be interesting to se what changes, if any, Ange Postecoglou makes as he looks to right the ship amid building pressure.
