Tottenham forward Harry Kane looked expectedly happy when he returned to Hotspur Way for his first day of pre-season training under new manager Ange Postecoglou.

The Spurs striker has been the topic of discussion even when he was on holiday with Bayern Munich having two bids for him already turned down and Manchester United keeping an interest also even if they have widened their search.

Tottenham have plainly said he is not for sale without uttering a word while also determined to get him to sign a new contract that would reportedly earn him a staggering £400k-a-week.

Spurs are aware of the risk that he could walk away for free in the next twelve months, but he could also hand them an unexpected boost by remaining professional as he’s been and lifting the squad, providing the new manager with a chance to build an exciting team.

Nothing is guaranteed in football but manager Ange Postecoglou was quick to state he wants to know where his star man thinks the club can improve having publicly said Spurs had lost some of its value recently.

Postecoglou said: “I want is to introduce myself to Harry and give him my vision of the football club. And get a sense from him on what he thinks the club needs to do to be successful and walk out on that training pitch and try and make it happen.”

Tottenham will leave London on Friday to begin their pre-season tour of Australia, Singapore and Thailand, but a good start between Kane and his new boss will be the perfect platform to start Tottenham’s campaign.
